An artist with intense drive and determination, Erin Barra is a young, emotive singer-songwriter and performer whose talent belies maturity far beyond her years.
Brilliantly blurring pop, soul, funk, electronic, rock and urban genres into infectiously memorable songs (Alicia Keys meets Daft Punk) Erin performs solo, acoustically, or for best effect, with her full band.
A Berklee grad and Utah native, Erin has already worked with and gained the respect of some of the industry’s most experienced and successful artists, producers and engineers including, John Oates, Kathy Mattea, Elliot Scheiner and George Massenburg.
Erin’s first album, ‘Illusions’ marks the start of a long and illustrious career.

If Alicia Keys and Nelly Furtado collided with Daft Punk and Esthero in the vast circuitry of an Akai APC 40, you’d probably end up with an experience as rich and soulful as Erin Barra. On the forefront of the Digital Soul movement, her sound is the combination of a flawless songwriting sensibility sprawled across heavy foundation of Rock & Soul and shades of Electronica.
She is highly influenced by: the classic singer/songwriters of the 70’s (James Taylor, Hall & Oates, Paul Simon), R&B/Soul artists past and present (Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott, Raphael Saadiq), and electronic pioneers (Daft Punk, Imogen Heap)

“This young newcomer has everything needed for breakthrough success —
a soulful sound, energetic stage presence, thoughtful lyrics and an intangible star quality.”— THE WASHINGTON POST
“When I first met Erin Barra at Berklee a few years ago I sensed she had something special. After our first writing session together, my instincts were confirmed. She is an “old soul” musician with a very modern songwriting sensibility. She is the type of artist who can have a long career in the music business.”

“Illusions is a blend of 31st century production standards as well as looping soul melodies that dart from reggae to hip hop and traditional soul that distinguishes her effort. A glimpse into an amazing sounding future.”
— THE COUCH SESSIONS
“On Illusions, her sophomore album, Ms. Barra showcases strong songwriting skills and confidently takes listeners through the complexities of love and loss. Mixing pop and R&B with a bit of rock and reggae, Ms. Barra digs deep into the heart, especially on the soulful “Good man,” the candid “Skyline.”

Erin Barra Blends Technology and Soul for a Unique Sound
“Listening to Erin Barra is akin to knowing you are hearing an artist of true style and substance. She is honest and passionate, allowing herself to be vulnerable in content and delivery, which is something that’s definitely welcome in the current pop music scene.”
“Erin Barra is a refreshing breeze over a stagnant pop/soul scene. A true musical artist with talent both as a musician and lyricist. On Illusions she displays both skills to their full extent creating a dense background through which to tell her fully fleshed out stories of love and loss. In a world of pop ciphers and dancing queens she harkens back to the days when pop and soul mixed effortlessly on the radio and singer/songwriters could make hits by pouring out their hearts.”

Over the years, Erin’s material and stage show has taken on many forms, from a one-woman army to an army of musicians. Her full live band, The Hitters, is based out of Brooklyn.
I’d like to thank the powers that be for granting me the gift of creativity, the time and resources needed to create and the support needed to plant a seed like this and let it blossom. I would be no one and nowhere without the amazing group of individuals who make everything I do possible. You are too many to name but a few special shout outs are in order: first a foremost to my family, my co-producer Ari Raskin, all the musicians who blessed this record with their many and varied talents (especially Josh, Steve, Cian and Kyle), Steve Sunderland, Andrew Yang, Melissa Aguerre, Danica Warren, Sophie Goudard, Fiona Bloom, Duncan Hutchison, Curtis Hawkins, Meryl Music Distribution and Blackheart Records, the SOB’s fam, all my listeners and a special shout our to the biggest bitch of all, NYC. Also, I need to say thank you to all the haters and people out there who have made my life occasionally miserable. By doing so you have made me into a stronger person, inspired me, and now here we have the final product. Not everything is what it seems…
I have had the distinct pleasure of working with so many talented and amazing individuals over the years – in many different groups and forms. I am indebted to, and some day hope to repay, all the time and energy these beautiful human beings have invested in my music. Whether it’s been years or only one studio session, my sound and voice are highly influenced by their presence and power. I can say for certain that I would not be who I am today if it wasn’t for these group of musicians doin’ they best to make me sound good : )
